Vincennes, France -- The newly rebranded Gaumont Animation (formerly Alphanim) announced the company has finalized a deal with BulkyPix, one of the leading international digital entertainment providers that publishes high quality games and applications, for its all-new animated CGI series Calimero  (104 x 11’). Set to launch in conjunction with the television series, BulkyPix will be producing a free-to-play Calimero app for both iOS and Android devices.  Based on the new series’ designs, the application will take the form of a customizable gaming environment for kids to play. Special features will be designed specifically for adults who grew up watching Calimero.

"Calimero is still very much alive in the hearts of many around the world today so we are really proud to bring it to families on smartphone and tablets. We are really excited about our collaboration with Gaumont Animation on this great game to come." commented Vincent Dondaine, COO, Sales and Marketing Director for Bulkypix.

“It was key for us to find a partner who could assemble great content ideas and development capacities, while at the same time utilizing their expertise in the global publishing of digital content with country-specific actions,” commented Cedric Petitpas, VP Marketing, Consumer Products & Business Development for Gaumont Animation.  “BulkyPix have become a leader in the development and global marketing of tablet applications and we look forward to working with their teams on the adaptation of Calimero’s universe.”

Calimero is a loveable little black chicken that was initially created in 1963 by Nino Pagot, Toni Pagot and Ignazio Colnaghi and became an international hit with 290 episodes of animation aired in over 80 countries.  Celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year, Gaumont Animation’s all-new animated CGI series will bring this iconic character to an entire new audience of children.
