Miss Digital World Beauty Contest Launches Website

At the 2003 Virtuality Conference, Franz Cerami announced the new Miss Digital World, a beauty contest for digitally created women. The contests Website (www.missdigitalworld.com) has now officially launched. The idea for the event is to search for a contemporary ideal of beauty, represented through virtual reality.

Miss Digital World is aimed at digital artists, advertising agencies, cinema production companies and videogame programmers who have created virtual models. The contest will take place on the Internet in a three-dimensional environment. All the contestants will parade along a virtual catwalk hosted by a virtual presenter. The girl who, at the end of the preliminary rounds, has the highest number of votes from Net users, will be crowned Miss Digital World.

As part of Virtuality 2004, the winning contestants creator will be awarded a prize. Each contestant must submit five photos for the photo book in jpeg format; date of birth, name, address, etc.; hair color; eye color; height; vital statistics and video that can be seen in streaming in Quick Time Movie or in .avi format.

The first selection round will run from December 1, 2003 to February 28, 2004 with the polls open until March 30, 2004. The second selection round will run from March 1, 2004 to May 31, 2004 with the polls open until June 29, 2004. The third selection round will run from June 1, 2004 to August 31, 2004 with the polls open until September 29, 2004. The results of each selection period will be announced on the day following the end of the polling period. The final selection period will begin October 1, 2004 and run until November 29, 2004, with the winner crowned on November 30, 2004.
