MIPCOM News - Sunbow Entertainment Swims With Two Goldfish

The award-winning team of writer Neil Gaiman and artist Dave McKean are in development with TV-Loonland subsidiary Sunbow Entertainment to create a series based on their children's book THE DAY I SWAPPED MY DAD FOR TWO GOLDFISH. This week at MIPCOM, Sunbow is presenting the 13 x 22-minute animated series, targeted at 6 -11 year-olds. Gaiman is best known for his critically acclaimed and widely successful graphic novels SANDMAN and the 3-part series DEATH: THE HIGH COST OF LIVING which he is currently adapting to a feature film for Warner Bros. Gaiman is also the best-selling author of the young adult novel CORALINE and the Hugo Award-winning AMERICAN GODS. Dave McKean is a renowned artist hailing from the world of comics and graphic novels and has worked extensively with Gaiman. McKean is currently working as a conceptual designer on the third Harry Potter film and has also worked recently on designs for director Lars von Trier (DANCER IN THE DARK, BREAKING THE WAVES). The animated world of GOLDFISH will be created using a mixed-media approach to enhance the cutting edge visual style of the book. The backgrounds will be a mix of 2D, 3D and photographic elements while the characters will be rendered in 2D hand-drawn animation.
