France Animation is attending MIPCOM this year with SPACE LUNIES and LITTLE VAMPIRE.
SPACE LUNIES is a traditional 2D animated pre-school series created by Terry Ward, whose previous credits include MR MEN and LITTLE MISS. France Animation is co-producing the 39x7 series with London-based animation producer TV4C and will be using Orange Studios in Poland to create the animation. France 5 has come on board as the French broadcast partner and the show has been pre-sold to Channel 5 and Discovery Kids UK. France Animation and TV4C are splitting the worldwide distribution rights.
LUNIES follow a group of characters that live in this far away galaxy, called Lunies, who have personalities that match their names like Scared Lunie, Lonely Lunie, Angry Lunie and Daft Lunie.
Maïa Tubiana, managing director of France Animation, said, There is always room for pre-school shows which entertain and also educate a little. Together with TV4C we think we have the perfect property with SPACE LUNIES. A fun and tender series offering great stories, zany adventures, endearing characters that we are confident will prove popular at MIPCOM Jr.
LITTLE VAMPIRE, aimed at 6-12 year olds, is a 52x13 series, adapted from the popular comic books of the same name written by Joann Sfar. France Animation has worldwide distribution rights. The program is a co-production with Paris-based Story and Telegael from Ireland, in collaboration with France 3.
The humorous and charming world of LITTLE VAMPIRE, which mingles monsters and regular folks, is both entertaining and enlightening for kids of all ages. When a cast of likeable monsters enters the world of a regular little boy, the mischief they create together brings them all on a rollicking ride of fun and antics!
LITTLE VAMPIRE follows Mikael, a little orphan who lives a carefree life with his grandparents. By day he goes to school, but at night he hangs out with Little Vampire, a friendly nocturnal creature, and his monster friends in his haunted house.
Tubiana said, LITTLE VAMPIRE is a series which sees the lovable characters revel in a world of merriment and naughtiness. We are delighted to be introducing it to the international market at MIPCOM Jr. and MIPCOM.
