Mindy Brown has been joined Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI) as exec director, global advertising sales, International Networks.
"Mindy has years of experience building revenue for fast growing media companies," said Jamie Weissenborn, vp, global advertising sales, International Networks, SPTI, to whom Brown reports. "She has a reputation for creating unique advertising solutions for her clients. Our global sales efforts will surely benefit from Mindy's valuable portfolio of business skills."
Based at SPTI's headquarters in Culver City, California, Brown will work with Weissenborn to lead advertising sales across AXN, Sony Ent. TV and Animax, all part of SPTI's international networks portfolio. She will be involved in the packaging and selling of events, generating sponsorships and developing product integration opportunities for programs that air on SPTI's networks. Additionally, she will work on sales efforts with movie studios for theatrical advertising on SPTI's international networks, and provide advertising agency coverage in New York and London.
Brown was director of advertising sales at G4 since May 2003. Previously, She held a number of positions in the ad sales division of Adlink in Los Angeles. She joined Adlink in 1993 as an account exec and was promoted to senior account exec in 1996. She was promoted again in 2002 to senior managing director of the client services division.
Brown had been an account exec at TeleRep (1989 to 1993), gm of Media Data Services (1987 to 1989), research analyst at KCBS-TV (1986 to 1987) and CBS TV National Sales (1985 to 1986), all in Los Angeles. She began her career at KTTY-TV in San Diego in 1984.
