New firm Mind The Gap Inc. has been contracted by Laika Ent. to develop an asset and production tracking system. With an in-depth understanding of Laika Ent.'s production and technical needs, Mind The Gap is supporting the company's animated feature film initiatives by strengthening it's workflow with integrated systems to track production resources, assets, rendering, and disk space.
Mind The Gap provides custom software development and consulting for CG animation pipelines. In the near future it will be offering off-the-shelf, yet customizable solutions for what it believes are the core pieces of a solid pipeline: asset management, version control and distribution, job navigation, variable and production tracking systems. Mind The Gaps solutions are being built to be software independent, allowing for maximum flexibility.
Mind The Gap Inc. will also be publishing monthly articles on the best practices and issues relevant to animation production and pipelines. The first article "The Iron Fist on Naming Conventions" will be available from its website www.animationpipeline.com on July 29, 2005.
