Paramount Pictures has tapped Mike Myers to headline HOW TO SURVIVE A ROBOT UPRISING, reports VARIETY. Michael DeLuca, who oversaw production at New Line when Myers made the AUSTIN POWERS films, will produce.
The film is based on a manual written by Daniel H. Wilson, a doctoral candidate at the Robotics Institute of Carnegie Mellon University. RENO 911 creators Thomas Lennon and Ben Garant are writing the screenplay. Myers will play a technical administrator with the thankless job of sounding warnings against the growing presence of robots while researching ways to keep the robots from taking over.
