Prime Focus Group and Frantic Films announced that Michael L. Fink has been appointed President, Visual Effects Worldwide and will be operating out of the Frantic Films VFX facility located in Hollywood, California.

In his new role, Fink will be serving as Senior VFX Supervisor for projects awarded to Frantic Films VFX, and will be overseeing the integration of visual effects production for all of the Prime Focus Group VFX facilities across North America, India and the U.K., including London-based vfx facility Machine.

Fink was recently recognized for his role as Senior Visual Effects Supervisor on "The Golden Compass" with an Academy Award, a BAFTA award, and a VES nomination. He is a veteran visual effects supervisor with dozens of credits to his name, including BRAVEHEART, X2 and X-MEN. His award-winning career spans over three decades with a BAFTA nomination for WAR GAMES in 1983, four nominations for the Saturn award from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, and BAFTA and Academy Award nominations for BATMAN RETURNS in 1993.

"It is tremendously exciting to be involved with Frantic Films, a group I have worked with before and hold in the highest regard. I'm very much looking forward to working with the accomplished creative and R&D team assembled by my friend, Chris Bond," Fink said. "Frantic's -- and now my involvement with Prime Focus Group -- allows us to create a global organization with leading VFX talent, facilitating a 24/7 production cycle that can handle vfx projects of any scale, from beginning to end."
