The International Animation Film Market, held in conjunction with the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, issues a call for submissions to the 2014 pitch sessions.
The International Animation Film Market (MIFA), held in conjunction with the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, has issued a call for entries to the 2014 edition of the marketplace. MIFA is a major event in the world of animation and over the past 25 years has established itself as the leading event on the industry calendar. As the biggest animation festival in the world, Annecy is the can’t-miss annual appointment for animation professionals and fans. MIFA takes place June 11-13, 2014, with the International Animation Film Festival to be held June 9-14.
The Call for Projects offers a great opportunity to pitch projects to professionals attending MIFA and affiliate partners and funders. Selections will be made at the end of February, with only 10 percent of the projects submitted to be given a chance to be pitched in Annecy/MIFA 2014. Organizers will focus on coaching participants and ensuring the audience will mainly contain professionals.
Short films, features, TV series and specials, and cross-media projects are eligible for submission, with partners awarding prizes to selected projects in each category. The deadline for TV and short film submissions is February 3, 2014. Feature films and transmedia projects must be submitted by February 21, 2014.
