Billerica, Massachusetts (September 19, 2011) - Broadcast Pix™ today announced its new Mica™ live video production system was honored with the STAR Award from TV Technology Europe during IBC2011 earlier this month in Amsterdam.

The STAR Award (short for Superior Technology Award Recipient) is designed to celebrate and showcase technological innovations for the broadcast industry. "STAR Awards are given to interesting new products that help a user save money or accomplish a task in an easier way," said Mark Hallinger, editor of TV Technology Europe. "The products selected help advance the industry – some were chosen because of technical novelty or innovation, some because they filled an important gap in the production or transmission chain, and some because they were just cool products."

“We want to thank TV Technology Europe for recognizing Mica with a STAR Award during IBC,” said Ken Swanton, president, Broadcast Pix. “It’s always gratifying when other industry professionals appreciate your new products. We think our Mica family of products will be a big asset for video professionals, because it provides all the tools you need to create compelling live HD video at the price of a switcher.”
