Now that it has emerged from bankruptcy with new leadership, MGM is putting into motion development on several projects, reports Variety. Spyglass president Jonathan Glickman, who now runs MGM's motion picture group, is eager to bring life to the ROBOCOP reboot, which was a hot property when Mary Parent was running MGM. Back then director Darren Aronofsky and the franchise's original producer Mike Medavoy of Phoenix Pictures were on board. Arnold Messer, Brad Fischer and David Thwaites were also attached as producers.

Additionally, Glickman wants to breathe life back into POLTERGEIST. He wants to see if the franchise that Spielberg built has a fourth installment in it.

Another project in the vfx arena is HERCULES. The project is being brought over from Spyglass where Peter Berg was set to produce. The story follows the title character as he trains an army to challenge the gods.

Other none vfx related films in the works include a reboot of MR. MOM and remake of THE IDOLMAKER.
