While MGM finalizes its restructuring deal with Spyglass, the studio has decided to delay the release of its next two releases, reports ComingSoon.net.
Both the remake of RED DAWN and Drew Goddard and Joss Whedon's THE CABIN IN THE WOODS have been pushed indefinitely. DAWN was set for release on Nov. 26, while CABIN was to hit theaters on Jan. 14, 2011.
DAWN's cast includes Chris Hemsworth, Josh Peck, Josh Hutcherson, Adrianne Palicki, Isabel Lucas, Connor Cruise and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The film was directed by longtime stunt coordinator Dan Bradley. The story follows teenagers set to thwart a Russian and Chinese invasion of their town.
CABIN's cast includes Richard Jenkins, Bradley Whitford, Kristen Connolly, Chris Hemsworth, Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz, Jesse Williams and Brian White. Directed and co-written by Goddard and produced and co-written by Whedon, the film takes a new twist on the classic "cabin in the woods" horror plot.
