Mechanism Digital accepted the design challenge to develop a memorable show open and graphics package for Animal Planet's new series BEHIND THE CLIP. The show is produced by CBS Eye Too, who in turn came to rely on Mechanism's design team to create a quirky and fresh concept for a new show featuring animals skateboarding, driving a car and other surprising activities found on YouTube clips.
Understanding the many levels of approval and possible revisions, compounded by the tight schedule and budget; Mechanism approached the project with confidence by employing its traditional five-phase creative process which is similar to an agency's approach. The process includes client participation and clear sign-offs at the end of each phase until completion.
Created in After Effects, the open, bumpers, and transitions use layers inspired by an old TV tube contrasted with motion and colors exemplifying the up-beat tempo and exuberance of the show.
