MAXON Debuts Three New Products at SIGGRAPH 2005

MAXON has introduced a new MAXON Production Bundle for studio visual effects, along with upgrades to CINEMA 4D (Release 9.5) and BodyPaint 3D (Release 2.5) during SIGGRAPH 2005 at its, booth 913.

The MAXON Production Bundle combines MAXON products and services that are meant specifically for studio use. It contains the complete MAXON product palette, plus advanced tools including a complete Linux version; 16- and 32-bit support for all BodyPaint 3D paint tools; Projection Man, for digital matte paintings; and integration of Renderman-compliant renderers such as PRMan and Air.

CINEMA 4D 9.5 includes SKY, a tool that helps users create improved atmospherics, and features improved workflow as well as lighting and rendering enhancements. Lights can take any shape, leading to more lighting possibilities, and lighting setup has been simplified. Area lights and shadows render up to four times faster than before. Images can be output in 32-bit/channel color depth as HDRI and OpenEXR, and multipass renderings can be output directly as compositing files for Shake. A new Content Browser gives an overview of projects and presets, and full-screen mode gives users a larger working space. An enhanced Baker allows the simple creation of textures, normal maps and UVs. Advanced Render users can enjoy features such as Ambient Occlusion, in addition to SKY.

BodyPaint 3D 2.5 improves the workflow of the standalone version of MAXONs 3D paint tool, and speeds the creation of high-end textures for complex models in 3ds Max, LightWave, Maya and Softimage XSI. Like CINEMA 4D 9.5, this product includes full-screen mode and a new Content Browser, as well as other workflow improvements.

The MAXON Production Bundle, a combination of MAXON products and services targeted specifically for studio users, contains the complete, current MAXON product palette as well as advanced tools for studio visual effects including a complete Linux version, 16- and 32-bit support for all BodyPaint 3D paint tools, integration of Renderman-compliant renderers such as PRMan and Air, and Projection Man, a specialized tool set for the generation of digital matte paintings. The Production Bundle also expands on MAXON's free technical support with a service contract including free upgrades and future products.

CINEMA 4D R9.5 and BodyPaint 3D R2.5 will be available in September 2005.New customers who purchased a full license of CINEMA 4D R9.x or BodyPaint 3DR2.x later than July 1 are eligible for a free upgrade.
