Marvel Promotes Eric Rollman To President, Marvel Animation

In a move designed to further strengthen the company's presence in the animation and home entertainment markets, Marvel Entertainment has promoted Eric Rollman to President, Marvel Animation.

In his new role, Rollman -- who was most recently Executive Vice President, Home Entertainment & TV Production for Marvel Studios -- will oversee Marvel's animation slate, as well as partnerships with key broadcasters and home entertainment studios. Rollman will report directly to Simon Philips, President of Marvel Entertainment International.

Rollman joined Marvel in 2004 to support the Company's landmark agreement with Lionsgate to develop, produce and distribute made for DVD animated features based on popular characters from the Marvel Universe. Rollman has since led all aspects of the major commitment to original home entertainment programming, including development and production. To date, the Marvel DVD line has produced four best-selling titles, including the two THE AVENGERS titles and THE INVINCIBLE IRON MAN.

On the television front, Rollman has been instrumental in Marvel's on-air resurgence. He is currently overseeing the IRON MAN: ARMORED ADVENTURES and WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN, animated series and forged the deal with Nickelodeon to have both shows aired on its popular Nicktoons Network. Both shows will premiere in early 2009.

His depth of experience will continue to be relied upon heavily as we look to further expand our animation slate and build additional broadcast and home entertainment partnerships."

Prior to joining Marvel, Rollman spent over 15 years as a key executive at Saban Entertainment/Fox Family Worldwide ending his tenure as President of Fox Family Productions with its sale to ABC/Disney in 2001. In this role, he supervised more than 2,500 hours of TV and film production and was responsible for the oversight of many key departments including Animation, Live Action Physical & Special Projects Production, Post Production, Sound & Editorial Operations, Worldwide Technical Services and the TechnologyEngineering Division. Rollman is a graduate of Indiana University with a B.A.A in Telecommunications.
