Marvel Enterprises Appoints Ken West Executive VP And CFO

Marvel Enterprises, Inc. has appointed Kenneth P. West, 44, as executive vice president and chief financial officer. In his new capacity, West will be responsible for managing all financial and treasury functions, bank relationships and conducting internal and industry analysis to support the company's goals for growth. He will also play an important role in Marvel's expanded investor relations initiatives and developing strategies to enhance the company's capital structure. West has over 22 years of diverse financial and management experience including corporate development, budgeting, tax, operations analysis, financial reporting and communications, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Marvel, West was the chief operating officer and chief financial officer of McIntyre Staffing Solutions in Stamford, CT. Marvel CEO Peter Cuneo commented on West's appointment by noting, "Filling the CFO role with such a strong professional is a crucial step in empowering Marvel for continued success." Marvel's operations are focused in four divisions: entertainment (Marvel Studios), licensing, toys (Toy Biz) and comic book publishing. Currently, Marvel Studios is in production on the feature films THE HULK, DAREDEVIL and a sequel to the X-MEN movie, all for 2003 release, and is hoping to continue SPIDER-MAN's success with a sequel, scheduled to begin production in January 2003.
