Malaysian Side FX Wins Co-Production Bid

Malaysian animation and post-production company, Side FX Sdn Bhd (Side FX), has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Jeddah Saudi Arabia-based animation and production house, Ella Animation (Ella), to produce an animated feature, reports THE UTUSAN EXPRESS. The film is expected to be released in August 2005 in South East Asia and the Middle East. The story will focus on Malaysian history and the influence of Islam during the reigns of the first Moslem ruler of Malacca, Iskandar Shah.

The partnership will be facilitated by the MSC Technopreneur Development Flagship (MSC-TDF) under the Market Access Programme. The program is aimed at assisting market-ready Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in sales and channel development by driving business opportunities to companies and helping them secure mutual business partners.

"We hope to facilitate the growth and development of more of our clients such as Side FX to realise their market potential and become competitive global players," said vp of MSC-TDF, Dr Wilson Tay.

Side FX ceo Syed Abdul Razak Syed Abdullah said, "We are very happy to be co-producing this animated movie, especially since Side FX is very focused on developing content for the edutainment (educational entertainment) industry".
