Creative Media Point and Anima Vitae announce new Malaysia-based joint venture Anima Point.
Cannes, France -- Anima Point is a new joint venture between Creative Media Point and Anima Vitae, based in Malaysia. The aim of setting up this new joint venture company is to leverage on Anima Vitae’s award winning technical skills, creative talents and worldwide network with Creative Media Point’s established presence in Malaysia and Asia.
Anima Vitae is one of the leading 3D animation companies from Finland. They have been nominated twice for ‘Best European 3D animated Feature producer’ and was recently nominated as the Grand Prix winner for best feature film at the Tokyo Kinder Film Festival.
Malaysia is the ideal location to set up a studio as it is situated well geographically and is the ideal gateway into the Asian market. The government also offers support and other incentives for creative content production such as the ‘Film in Malaysia Incentive’ (FIMI) that offers a cash rebate of 30% for in country expenditure. The country is also home to a numerous about of multi-talented and multi-lingual knowledge workers as well as high technology infrastructure to produce content.
Anima Vitae is set to be a promising joint venture between Europe and Asia. They have been contracted by Trixter for service work on the 3D animated feature Seven Dwarves.
For their second deal Anima Point will be co-producing with Trixter (Munich, Berlin, LA), Einstein Film (Denmark) and Anima Vitae (Finland), to produce the 3D animated feature film Hugo. Hugo has a budget of USD 10 Million and is based off the widely popular Hugo troll character from the 1990’s. This show will be targeted for worldwide distribution. Production is expected to begin in 2014 and it will aim to be finished by the year 2016.
