MagicDreams Signs Deal with MarVista for Kiddo the Super-Truck

Westwood, California-based MagicDreams has signed a distribution deal with Mar Vista Ent. for its 3D childrens series KIDDO THE SUPER-TRUCK. Mar Vista will take the property direct-to-video, but no release date has been set. Co-produced with Indias MUV Studios, the show follows a little truck that can transform into anything he wishes to be.

Venessa Hart, MagicDreams writer and associate producer, said, The union was inevitable. Coupling Americas best animation writers with Indias best animators produces nothing but cost-efficient magic.

MUV president Rajesh Shah said, "Indias animation industry is rapidly becoming a highly-skilled production center. With quality Hollywood content, we have the potential to meet the demands of an international market hungry for quality CG animation.

Childrens advocate June Penick proves writing work on the series. She currently is writing a series of childrens books based on the KIDDO brand. Composer Mark Volpe provides the music.

KIDDO will be added to Mar Vistas growing archive of more than 3,000 hours of TV shows and 40 animated features, including the Canadian TV series TOM STONE and the hour-long special A VERY WOMPKEE CHRISTMAS. Mar Vista was recently formed by Whamo Ents partners Joseph Szew, Fernando Szew and Mar Gaya, along with PorchLight Ent.s Michael Jacobs and Anchor Bay Ent.s George Port. Whamco Ent. was then folded into the new firm.

MagicDreams also announced the optioning of Harts first book THE LAVENDER BEARS. Hart has a three-book contract with Lavender Press, U.K. The book is described as an aromatic Victorian Fairy Tale with herbal remedies for the soul where the Lavender Bears frolic in a magical garden world ripe with old-world values. Volpe has also been signed to compose the music score.
