Magi-Nation Online Game Headed to Beta

Cookie Jar Ent. announced that online role-playing game MAGI-NATION: BATTLE FOR THE MOONLANDS is heading into beta testing in December.

Kenneth Locker, SVP of digital media, Cookie Jar Ent., said, "Our young viewers are extremely Internet-savvy and routinely monitor their TV shows online. With this project we will extend that connection and enable players to have a fully interactive experience with their favorite characters in one of their favorite worlds."

MAGI-NATION: BATTLE FOR THE MOONLANDS is a free-to-play, Web-based game with a user-friendly menu system that enables players to quickly manage their items, spells and creature collection. The intuitive interface encourages players to take control of the game experience as they seek to become the best magi in all the Moonlands. Supporting this, the game incorporates a micropayment model, which allows players to upgrade their gaming experience.

To further expand the game playing experience, Magi-Nation consumer products will also be integrated into this immersive world starting in 2008.

MAGI-NATION follows the adventures of 15-year-old Tony Jones, an average teen from Earth who finds himself mysteriously transported to the magical world of Magi-Nation. In these Moonlands, Tony befriends two young Magi heroes-in-training who join him on a journey to defeat the evil Shadow Magi who are out to rule their world. Along with their trusty collection of Dream Creatures these new friends must solve riddles, battle evil and discover the secrets hidden in each region on the Moonlands.

Cookie Jar Ent. is currently accepting applications for MAGI-NATION: BATTLE FOR THE MOONLANDS' beta period. Potential beta players can sign up for their chance for an advanced look at the game at www.magi-nation.com. The game is set for live launch in 2008.
