Virginia Madsen has been hired for Warner Bros.' RED RIDING HOOD, reports VARIETY. She will play the mother of Amanda Seyfried's lead character. The cast also includes Lukas Haas, Shiloh Fernandez, Julie Christie and Gary Oldman. ORPHAN writer David Leslie Johnson's medieval take on the fairy tale finds a village besieged by a werewolf. Catherine Hardwicke, who took on vampires in TWILIGHT, is directing.
Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Davisson Killoran, Michael Ireland and Alex Mace are producing.
March 11, 2011 is set for the film's release.
