Machinima Launches New Original Series RCVR

LOS ANGELES, CA – September 21, 2011 – Machinima, the number one video entertainment brand for gamers around the world, today announced the launch of a new original series, “RCVR.” Premiering today, the six episode sci-fi mystery series, written, directed and produced by noted digital entertainment creator David van Eyssen through his production company, Science To Fiction, will debut new episodes on Wednesdays and be exclusively sponsored by Motorola Mobility.  The announcement was made by Allen DeBevoise, Chairman and CEO of Machinima.

“RCVR,” set in 1973, follows a black-ops unit engaged in covering up extraterrestrial encounters and locating individuals (RCVRs) who possess startling information communicated to them by alien beings. The first season, based on alleged true events, takes place in rural Arkansas.  In addition to the six episodes on Machinima, the audience experience will further expand with seeded websites that exist both within the show and in reality, and viral videos, giving the viewer active participation in the mystery and a deeper connection between historical events and the “RCVR” mythology.  The series stars newcomer, Daniel Bonjour in the role of RCVR hunter, Luke Weber. “RCVR” is produced by van Eyssen’s longtime collaborator, multi-platform producer Tavin Marin Titus, whose over 15 years in film, TV and New Media career includes the celebrated documentary, “Who Killed The Electric Car?” “X-Men: First Class”, and Emmy nominated “Mammoth.” Cinematography is by Joost van Starrenburg. RCVR is represented by Creative Artists Agency (CAA).
