Loonland's Owl Swoops into New Territories

TV-Loonland has secured a raft of new content deals for its cross-platform series THE OWL (52x1), which was recently picked up by the BBC.

A pan-regional pay-TV rights agreement with Jetix will cover the USA, Latin America, the Nordic Territories, Japan, India and Pakistan, while other pay-TV rights have been licensed to French broadcaster Canal J and Mini Mini Poland. In addition, THE OWL will be seen on Canadian free- and pay-TV via YTV and Societe Radio Canada, and free-TV rights have been picked up by VEO TV Digital Spain, DR TV Denmark and the polish preschool channel Canal + Cyfrowy.

The series, featuring an unfortunate owl facing the daily challenge of staying in one piece, has also been sold to Universal Family Entertainment in Germany for home video.Non-exclusive mobile rights for the U.K. have been granted to Player X; Vivendi Mobile Entertainment has picked up the rights for France; and free VoD and IPTV rights have been licensed to Bonsai Channel in Italy.
