Award-winning writer/producer Phil Lollar has become director of development for Renegade Animation. Lollar will develop episodic television, feature film, DVD and other entertainment projects for the animation studio. Renegade currently produces the Cartoon Network series HI HI PUFFY AMI YUMI debuting this fall.
Director of development is a newly created position for Renegade and part of the companys effort to grow the entertainment side of its business. We need to maintain a steady stream of development activity to support our production operations, said Ashley Postlewaite, the companys exec producer. Phil is the ideal person to lead that effort. We have a long relationship with Phil and are great admirers of his skills as a writer and producer. We also have great faith in his tastes and opinions.
We share the same sensibilities about cartoons and animation, Lollar said. The people at Renegade are top notch.
In addition to HI HI PUFFY AMI YUMI, Renegade produced CAPTAIN STURDY for Cartoon Network. It was also the producer of the animated Internet series ELMO AARDVARK: OUTER SPACE DETECTIVE, a winner of an Annie Award for Best New Technology Animated Series. Lollar was co-writer on that series. Renegade is currently developing several animated television series and DVD series.
Lollar has been involved in the creation, writing and production of dozens of childrens entertainment series including the radio dramas ADVENTURES IN ODYSSEY, a winner of a Golden Mike Award and JUNGLE JAM AND FRIEND. Lollar co-created the ODYSSEY series and wrote and directed more than 250 episodes for the show.
Lollars other credits include the video SERIES LITTLE DOGS ON THE PRAIRIE, a winner of the Film Advisory Boards Award of Excellence. He was a writer and consultant for the Nickelodeon/Jim Henson television series, THE WUBBULOUS WORLD OF DR. SEUSS, twice nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Childrens Series. He currently serves as head writer and creative consultant for the weekly radio show KIDS CORNER.
In addition to his work as director of development, Lollar is the voice and casting director for HI HI PUFFY AMI YUMI.
