Made in NY Entrepreneur Innovation grants given to nine early-stage projects representing new approaches to disciplines including film, virtual reality software, gaming and more.

Little Starship Productions, along with eight other early-stage projects representing innovative approaches to diverse disciplines such as film, virtual reality software, installation art/design, gaming, journalism and community building, have been designated to receive Made in NY Entrepreneur Innovation Grants of $5,000 to $10,000 in equity- and stake-free funding. The Grants were open to individuals and businesses residing in or operating primarily in New York City.

The Made in NY Media Center by IFP alongside the Mayor’s Office of Media & Entertainment (MOME) and the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), announced the first recipients of the Made in NY Entrepreneur Innovation Grants and the Made in NY Fellowships on Monday. Funded by MOME, these two programs aim to support the selected businesses to turn their projects into reality. The selected projects were selected based on their uniqueness, feasibility and professionalism.

Little Starship Productions is producing animated preschool learning apps that will help children develop fundamental cognitive skills during early childhood. They are also building the LittleStarship.net Internet portal as a one-stop location for parents to find the best educational multimedia for their children.
