Lionsgate has finally settled on a release date for the Joss Whedon-written horror film THE CABIN IN THE WOODS, reports ComingSoon.net. The studio will release the film on Friday, April 13, 2012. Producer Whedon co-wrote the script with director Drew Goddard, who wrote CLOVERFIELD.
Chris Hemsworth (THOR) stars as a young professional who goes to a cabin in the woods with his friends where they unlock a great evil. The film takes horror film conventions and turns them upside down. Hemsworth is joined by Richard Jenkins, Bradley Whitford, Kristen Connolly, Brian J. White, Amy Acker, Fran Kranz, and Jesse Williams
