Lindsay Burnett Joins Luma Pictures as Director of Business Development

Press Release from Luma Pictures

LOS ANGELES -- Visual effects and animation specialist Luma Pictures has named Lindsay Burnett to the newly-created post of Director of Business Development. Burnett, formerly Executive Producer for Feature Films at Riot in Santa Monica, will focus on growing Luma's feature film business. She will also oversee the company's marketing efforts. Luma has created visual effects for such films as HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE, CITY OF EMBER and NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN. Its current projects include X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE and the upcoming Coen Brothers film A SERIOUS MAN.

Burnett's appointment marks her return to Luma Pictures as, prior to her stint at Riot, she was a producer with the company. "Lindsay thoroughly understands the business of feature film visual effects and enjoys great respect among our studio clients," said Luma President Payam Shohadai. "She brings a lot of integrity to her role, which is very valuable to Luma-and it makes her an excellent spokesperson for our work and values."

Burnett has more than 70 films to her credit as a visual effects producer. At Riot, she oversaw production for such films as THE SPIRIT, LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD and, most recently, THE TIME TRAVELER'S WIFE. During her previous tenure at Luma Pictures, she produced for such films as UNDERWORLD: EVOLUTION and SILENT HILL.

Burnett described her return to Luma as a homecoming. "I have great respect for the work that they do here and feel it's an environment where I can thrive," she said. "I enjoy being a part of a team that's exclusively focused on doing great work."

Burnett began her career with Warner Digital where she worked on MARS ATTACKS!, SELENA and other films. Her background also includes work with Sony Pictures Imageworks (HOLLOW MAN, STUART LITTLE, CASTAWAY), Rhythm & Hues (NARNIA, SCOOBY DOO 2: MONSTERS UNLEASHED) and Asylum (HULK, X2, BLACK HAWK DOWN).

Luma Pictures is a leading provider of visual effects services to Hollywood with a reputation for artistic integrity, technical innovation and efficient production. The company served as lead visual effects provider on multiple Academy Award Winner NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN (Paramount Vantage), as well as recent releases such as HANCOCK (Columbia Pictures) and PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: AT WORLDS END (Walt Disney Pictures) . Some of the studio's other credits include APOCALYPTO (Buena Vista/Icon), UNDERWORLD EVOLUTION (ScreenGems/Lakeshore), THE HOLIDAY (Columbia Pictures), CRASH (Lions Gate) and REIGN OVER ME (Relativity).
