Press Release from Ludorum

NEW YORK – February 9, 2011 – Ludorum plc, a global media company that develops quality children’s entertainment franchises, proudly announced today that it has partnered with several prominent soft goods licensees to develop the first-ever lifestyle products featuring the educational and popular preschool television series, Chuggington. Merchandise inspired by the adventurous characters, colorful animation and entertaining sounds of Chuggington will be available in several categories including apparel, footwear, accessories and room décor nationwide in 2012.

This announcement comes on the heels of Ludorum’s recent news that the highly anticipated second season of the popular preschool series will debut on Disney Junior, Disney Channel’s new programming block designed for kids age 2-7 and their families, on February 14 (10:30 a.m., ET/PT).

“We are looking forward to expanding the presence of Chuggington into new product categories such as apparel, accessories and room décor through a number of retail channels nationwide in 2012,” said Megan Buecher, Director of Licensing for Ludorum. “We know that fans - both children and parents alike - will be excited to find Chuggington soft goods on shelves.”

Accessories launching in 2012 include Chuggington backpacks, lunch packs and luggage from Accessory Innovations as well as branded children’s footwear – sandals, boots, slippers, athletic footwear and flip-flops – from ES Originals.

Freeze will unveil Chuggington t-shirts for preschool boys and girls. ABG Accessories will introduce cold weather accessories, rainwear and umbrellas as well as headwear and belts. Komar Kids will bring Chuggington children’s pajamas to the market. High Point Design will introduce Chuggington socks featuring the popular trainees.

In the room décor aisle, Jay Franco will launch bedding and bath décor including comforters, sheet sets, blankets, decorative pillows, bath towels and accessories and beach towels featuring Chuggington’s familiar characters.

Ludorum has built an impressive portfolio of high-quality licensees since Chuggington’s U.S. launch. To date, more than 25 licensees in the United States have come ‘aboard’ to produce Chuggington products. The company continues to strategically roll-out the Chuggington brand and has several retail and advertising initiatives planned to coincide with the launches of consumer products throughout the year. In 2011, Chuggington merchandise will be available in a growing number of categories, including: DVDs, interactive and wooden railway sets, electronic learning aids and Halloween costumes.

Since its U.S. debut in January 2010, Chuggington has chugged full steam ahead into the hearts of children and parents nationwide. Each episode has an adventurous storyline that teaches children social readiness lessons like being responsible and telling the truth. Parents know that while their children enjoy the show’s feature-quality, CGI-animation and entertaining stories, they are also learning valuable lessons that reinforce the lessons they are taught at school and home.
