BRB Internacional, based in Madrid, will be developing the merchandising for the latest anime phenomenon DEATH NOTE in Spain for the first time. The Spanish company has been chosen by VIZ Media -- licensor of this successful anime that has turned into a mass phenomenon in Japan, The United States and France -- as licensing agent of this property for Spain and Portugal. The TV series DEATH NOTE is a police thriller about a supernatural notebook of death according to which the person whose name appears on it will die shortly. In Spain, the series is airing through Animax and it will be aired in an open broadcast format soon. Also, Selecta Vision has already launched the DEATH NOTE DVD in Spain.

Shonen Jump DEATH NOTE is a suspenseful mystery, inspired by a 12-volume manga series (published in North America by VIZ Media), and follows the adventures of Light Yagami, an ace student with great prospects but who is bored out of his mind. All of that changes when he finds the Death Note, a strange notebook dropped by a rogue Shinigami death god named Ryuk. Any human whose name is written in the notebook dies, and now Light has vowed to use the power of the Death Note to rid the world of evil. But when criminals mysteriously begin dropping dead, the authorities send the legendary detective L to track down the killer. With L hot on his heels, will Light lose sight of his noble goal -- or his life?

BRB Internacional will manage the DEATH NOTE license in Spain and Portugal aimed at teenagers, young adults and manga fans. To date, the licensing products of this property have had a great commercial success in the countries where it has been launched in several categories: DVDs, video games, action figures, apparel and trading cards.
