Launching a new strategy to extend the reach of its proprietary entertainment brands, Canada's 9 Story Ent. has named The Licensing Shop as exclusive worldwide (excluding Germany) licensing and merchandising representative.

The first two properties, set for presentation at the 2008 International Show Licensing Show, are ALMOST NAKED ANIMALS and BEST ED, two new animated series targeted to children ages 6-11. Product categories set for exploitation as part of the initial phase of the licensing and merchandising plan include, social expression, novelty toys, publishing, apparel and video games.

"9 Story is a genuinely dynamic Canadian entertainment company led by a group of very talented and creative people," said Nancy Fowler, Chief Strategist, The Licensing Shop. "We believe ALMOST NAKED ANIMALS and BEST ED have tremendous potential for merchandising particularly with the 6-11 year old demographic. You know you have something compelling when your audience laughs instantly at the designs before you have even begun to explain the story. We're very excited about the potential for both."

ALMOST NAKED ANIMALS (52x11) is an animated comedy series based on the popular website of the same name (www.almostnakedanimals.com). The series features a cast of cheeky animals dressed in underwear led by a hospitality-challenged dog named Howie.

BEST ED (52x11) is a 2D digital animation comedy series featuring the unlikely friendship of the always helpful Ed, a dog, and his squirrel pal Buddy. The "odd couple for kids" aren't just friends -- they're best friends.

The series is an original Teletoon production and presold to Cartoon Network Europe, Middle East and Africa as well as ABC Australia. The first initial completed episodes (10x11/5x22) were recently presented at MIPTV 2008.
