Toronto-based The Licensing Shop has been named as the new licensing representative in Canada for Sesame Workshop beginning January 2008. Flagship show SESAME STREET reaches over 70% of Canadian households via PBS and other Workshop shows are available on Treehouse TV. Sesame Workshop will invest the proceeds it receives from the sale of Sesame products back into its educational projects for children around the globe. Licensing categories in Canada include: toys, games, apparel, publishing, home video/DVD, arts/crafts, souvenir, youth furniture, party goods, gifts, bath décor & accessories, HBA, stationary and healthy foods.
The Licensing Shop was founded in January 2006 by Stephen Fowler, former president of 3DO Europe, and Nancy Fowler, former president of worldwide consumer products at DIC Entertainment.
