LIMA announces the nominees for the 2013 LIMA International Licensing Excellence Awards.
New York, NY -- Seventy-three nominees from across the licensing, retailing and consumer products fields will vie for the industry’s top honors, as the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association(LIMA) released the list of nominees for the 2013 LIMA International Licensing Excellence Awards. Winners are determined by a vote of the LIMA membership and will be announced at the LIMA Opening Night Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 during Licensing Expo in Las Vegas.
This year’s nominees were selected from among 237 entries, and awards will be presented in the following categories: Art or Design; Character or Toy Brand; Corporate Brand; Sports; and Film, Television, Celebrity or Entertainment. In addition, awards will be given for the Best Licensed Promotion and Retailer of the Year. In addition, the Overall Best Licensed Program, representing each of the five major property classifications, will be awarded to one of the following:
- Dena – Dena Designs, Inc.
- HGTV HOME – HGTV HOME/Beanstalk
- The Hunger Games – Lionsgate/Striker Entertainment, LLC
- Marvel’s The Avengers – The Walt Disney Company/Marvel Entertainment
- Monster High – Mattel, Inc.
- PGA TOUR – PGA TOUR/IMG Sports Licensing
- Skylanders – Activision Publishing, Inc.
“This year’s Awards will pay tribute to the brands, companies and retailers worldwide that achieved outstanding success with their licensing initiatives in 2012,” said LIMA President Charles Riotto. “The LIMA Awards Program was designed to celebrate the best in licensing innovation and creativity. We look forward to honoring all of our most deserving nominees for their significant impact on the industry, at retail and among consumers everywhere.”
Nominations were solicited from the worldwide licensing industry. Online voting will begin the week of April 15.
