Leonardo Picked Up by French Box

Treviso, Italy-based production company Gruppo Alcuni has made a deal with The Box Distribution for the French-speaking distribution of its new animated series LEONARDO (26x13).

The series follows the exploits of the 13-year-old Leonardo da Vinci and his friends. Already a genius, but unaware of his gift, Leonardo is both a boy like all the others, but also one involved with incredible inventions and breathtaking adventures. His friends include the loyal Lorenzo and the beautiful Gioconda; his rivals, headed by Laura and Gottardo, try their best to outdo him at every turn. However Leonardo always has a new and exciting idea up his sleeve and, with imagination and creativity, he manages to overcome the jealous plots put into action by his adversaries.

Each episode will also reveal one of Leonardo's new inventions from its conception to its creation. These include a flying machine, a special catapult and an elastic bicycle -- inventions that cater to the needs and dreams of youngsters.

Leonardo is expected to launch by the end of April 2008.
