Legros Appointed VP/Head Of Production At Calibre Digital Pictures

Gerry Legros has been appointed vice-president / head of production at Calibre Digital Pictures. After earning a television broadcasting degree from Mohawk College, Gerry became floor director and cameraman for CityTV's weekend news team. He juggled this dual role with a position at Magnetic North as a videotape operator for two years before a brief stint at Command Post. He then spent six years at Dome Productions as supervisor of the central equipment room, wrangling gear for a variety of departments. Two-and-a-half years at Dave followed where he began dabbling in compositing in his off- time. Hands-on training as a compositing assistant at Dave led to his job at Calibre. Legros has been with Calibre for four years and during that time his role has changed from compositor to senior visual effects producer to his present appointment. As the vice president and head of production at Calibre, Legros will be overseeing the flow of all productions in the studio and playing a leadership role in the management of the company. Based in Toronto, Canada, Calibre Digital Pictures provides animation and digital visual effects for feature film, television and commercial productions.
