This summer, VanArts (Vancouver Institute of Media Arts) will hold

one month intensive workshop in classical and computer animation.

There are no prerequisites. Special guest instructors Ken Southworth,

a 55-year veteran from Disney, MGM and Hanna-Barbera, and Bob

Godfrey, the Academy Award winning British director, will teach the

July and August classical animation programs. Students will gain a

strong foundation in classical animation and life drawing, becoming

familiar with the basic principles of animation, i.e. squash &

stretch, anticipation & follow-through, secondary action,

line-of-action posing, etc. Final animations will be output to video.

Program dates are July 3-28 and August 8-September 1, 2000. For more

information call the school office of admissions at 1-800-396-ARTS
