GC, a leading gaming event in Leipzig, Germany, wrapped up with its Best of GC awards. The jury of experts reviewed 102 nominated games and chose the best brand-new game of the fair in nine categories (eight platforms plus the most innovative product). The following games were awarded the Best of GC seal, which they can use from now on for their own publicity:

PC - F.E.A.R. (Vivendi Universal Games Deutschland GmbH)GameBoy - FIRE EMBLEM SACRED STONES (Nintendo)Nintendo DS - NINTENDOGS (Nintendo)Nintendo GameCube - ZELDA TWILIGHT PRINCESS (Nintendo)PlayStation 2 - PETER JACKSONS KING KONG (Ubisolft)PSP - RIDGE RACER (Sony Computer Ent. Deutschland GmbH)Xbox - BURNOUT REVENGE (Electronic Arts)Mobile - DIE SIMS 2 (Electronic Arts)

The game FAHRENHEIT (Atari) was voted the most innovative product at the GC 2005. It reinvents storytelling in videogames: the skilful use of changing perspectives and extremely well designed characters create a thrilling adventure that is quite unique among games today, according to the jurys citation.

This year for the first time, GC visitors were also given the chance to choose their favorite game out of 84 nominations. The game, BET ON SOLDIER (B.O.S.), from Frogster Interactive Pictures AG was the winner by a clear majority of text message votes. Among those taking part, Paul Kuhl from Heusenstamm near Frankfurt/Main was the name drawn from the gamers choice votings. Kuhl will receive a trip for two to the GC 2006, including four nights in a four star hotel and tickets for the GC.

The GC 2005 ended on Aug. 21, 2005, with a record number of visitors. 134,000 people came to the Leipzig Exhibition Centre from August 18-21, 2005 to view and try out the latest games, trends and developments in hardware and software.
