Kim Fleary New EVP, Comedy Development for The CW

Kim Fleary has been named evp, comedy development, The CW. Fleary, who will oversee the development of all scripted comedy series for The CW reports to Dawn Ostroff, president, entertainment, The CW.

"Kim's breadth of experience and vision have helped create many hit comedies in her career and we're confident she will repeat her success at The CW," said Ostroff. "She has keen creative and comedic instincts and is a wonderful collaborator on every level."

Fleary was UPN's svp, comedy development since July 2002, developing such comedies as the critically-acclaimed EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS from Chris Rock, and ALL OF US from exec producers Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, both of which will be on The CW schedule this fall.

Prior to UPN, Fleary oversaw development for Brandon Tartikoff's H. Beale Co., which produced programming for all broadcast media.

Fleary began her career in comedy development at ABC, ultimately rising to the post of svp, comedy/variety series development. During her tenure there, she was instrumental in the development of several top-rated and long-running sitcoms, including THE WONDER YEARS, ROSEANNE, HOME IMPROVEMENT, THE DREW CAREY SHOW and 3rd ROCK FROM THE SUN.
