Press Release from Kidscreen Summit

September 12, 2011: Kidscreen Summit, the year’s biggest gathering of kids entertainment professionals from around the world, is set to take place at the Hilton NY again from February 7 to 10, 2012. This pivotal conference and networking event will run over four days again, in response to overwhelmingly positive feedback about last year’s extended program.

Highlights will include twice as many Lunching With… sessions, giving attendees an opportunity to lunch in small groups with leading kids channel execs, and unlimited access to the Summit’s popular 30 Minutes With… forums featuring broadcasters talking candidly about their programming strategies and content needs for 2012 and beyond.

Last year’s Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, France Télévisions and Corus Entertainment Channel Team Spotlight presentations packed the room from morning to afternoon, so that track will return to the event in 2012, highlighting four more critical broadcast platforms.

Friday, February 10 is designated as a Meetings-Only Day to give delegates a chance to focus exclusively on deal-making and networking. And the event’s Delegate Lounge, sponsored by SeaWorld next year, will be set up with 30% more seating to help delegates get down to business more efficiently.

On Monday, February 6, the day before the Summit kicks off, Kidscreen is presenting two different full-day companion events at the Hilton NY to offer a more specialized professional learning experience to executives already in New York for the main conference. First up, this year’s iKids event is broadening its scope beyond apps to explore how to maximize the intersections between mobile content, video games and web entertainment in the kids space. And the second option is an executive coaching master class called the Leadership Training Day. Presented in partnership with The Nebo Company, this intensive hands-on program is designed to help execs map out personalized visions for their business futures, and also arm them with skills and techniques to achieve their next phase of professional growth.

The Kidscreen Summit’s many social events continue to draw the big crowds, and confirmed to date are the Kick-Off Cocktail on Tuesday night and the Kidscreen Awards presentation event and after-party on Thursday night. Both are held at the Hilton, and will be open to all delegates.

Last year, Kidscreen Summit welcomed nearly 1,600 attendees, representing 850+ companies from 42 countries around the world. And more than 350 kids TV buyers and investors were at the event looking for new content and partners.
