KidsCo Secures New Programming From Iconix

KidsCo, the joint venture channel owned by media companies NBC Universal, Cookie Jar Group and Corus Ent., has secured an agreement with Korean content provider, Iconix Ent., for a raft of new children's programming to air on their Asia Pacific/Sub-Saharan African feed.

The deal will see popular kids' shows, NALONG FLY TO THE SKY and SPHERES launch on KidsCo in early 2009.

Iconix is a distributor of distinctive animation originating from Asia Pacific and internationally. The company also develops and co-produces animation and has won a clutch of international awards for its quality programming that includes the globally-acclaimed PORORO THE LITTLE PENGUIN.

The new programming from Iconix, further enhances KidsCo's slate of gently educational and age appropriate programming. KidsCo's animated and live-action television series and feature-length movies have been selected from pre-eminent, independent programming suppliers including Cookie Jar, Corus' Nelvana, Sesame Workshop and the BBC.

Programming featured on the channel includes children's favorites such as INSPECTOR GADGET, SABRINA, WALLACE & GROMIT, S CLUB 7, STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE, NEW ADVENTURES OF MADELINE, BABAR, DENNIS THE MENACE, FRANKLIN and ROLIE POLIE OLIE.

Also, KidsCo has confirmed that the channel has now launched in Papua New Guinea following an agreement with local broadcast platform, Channel 8.

Having launched just over a year ago, KidsCo has rapidly grown its international distribution and is now available in more than 40 territories including Spain, Romania, Ukraine, the Middle East, Hungary, Russia, Turkey, Poland, Singapore, the Philippines, South Korea, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Thailand, Hong Kong, Cambodia and countries across sub-Saharan Africa.
