Press release from Kidobi:

Toronto/Kuala Lumpur– Animasia Studios and Kidobi today announced that the Malaysia-based animation studio has granted digital preschool platform Kdiobi SVoD rights for the animated preschool series ABC Monsters (22 x 22’) in Canada and the U.S. The educational preschool series will be available to subscribers on Kidobi.com later this spring.

In the series twenty six cuddly ABC Monsters live within the walls of Capital Castle. The ABC Monsters are wonderfully curious and happy creatures and often wander off from Alphabet Gardens to try new and fun things, invariably getting themselves lost in the process. In each adventure Alice and her good friends Brian and Cherry Berry, must search high and low for one of the missing monsters. Armed with their Magical Dictionary, the three friends follow letter related clues given to them by a host of characters that they meet along the way.

“ABC Monsters is an ideal addition to Kidobi’s library,” said Eric Sorenson, Director of Research & Content at Kidobi. “It has an educational component, while at the same time each episode is a great adventure. We think our viewers will love this imaginative program.”

The agreement announced today builds on several major announcements from both companies in the past weeks. ABC Monsters is the latest in a slew of content acquisitions by Kidobi, including over 150 hours of animated preschool content from Spanish producer/distributor Motion Pictures. Animasia Studio has also recently announced that their animated sports comedy series Bola Kampung will be developed into a feature film to be released at the end of 2012. The new distribution partnership gives both companies substantial momentum heading in to MipTV in Cannes.
