Disney XD is set to premiere the KID VS KAT, a new animated series, its regular timeslot on Saturday, February 21 at 9 a.m. The 26-episode series, about a 10-year-old boy who is at war with his sister's evil cat, is created by Rob Boutilier and produced by Studio B Productions.
KID VS KAT is about the conflict between a malevolent cat and the beleaguered ten-year-old boy to whom it has taken a demented dislike. When 10-year-old Coop Burtonburger's spoilt little sister Millie brings home a mysterious stray kitty his idyllic life is turned upside-down. It turns out that this is no cat at all, but a space alien who just happens to look like a cat. What's more, this evil invader now blames Coop for stranding him here on Earth and is determined to destroy him! It's clear that Kat wants to destroy Coop, unfortunately neither his dad, the kids in the neighborhood, or the nasty old busybody next door believe Coop when the inevitable chaos ensues. It's up to Coop and his best friend Dennis to prove what this diabolical pet really is and put a stop to all of its evil schemes.
In the first half of the premiere episode, "Let the Games Begin," Coop's sister Millie brings home a strange, hairless cat, Mr. Kat; he quickly discovers that his once happy life will never be the same again.
In the second half, "Night of the Zombie Cat," Coop defies Dad and stays up late to watch a horror, and then he finds that his home has been invaded by an army of Zombie cats, to the amusement of Mr. Kat.
KID VS KAT has already premiered on YTV Canada and ABC Australia, where it has garnered strong ratings. KID VS KAT is produced by Studio B Productions, a DHX Media company, in association with YTV Canada and Jetix Europe.
