Kid Jokes to be Featured in Yakkity Yak Contest

Vancouver-based animation house Studio B will give 20 Canadian kids a chance to see their best jokes delivered by TELETOONs animated star Yakkity Yak. YAKKITY YAK follows the day-to-day trails and tribulations of Yakkity Yak, a teenage yak who dreams of becoming a stand-up comedian.

"Yakkity Yak has a can-do attitude, and a quirky view of the world," said Blair Peters, co-founder and partner, Studio B Productions. "We're looking for kids who have the same attitude and sense of humor."

Kids can submit their jokes at the Comedy Corner on www.teletoon.com until January 11, 2004. A committee of TELETOON judges will review all the submissions and shortlist 250 jokes, which will all be featured on the teletoon.com Website by mid-January. The best 20 jokes (10 in English and 10 in French) will each be made into a 15-second animated cartoon with Yakkity Yak delivering them. Some jokes will be broadcast on TELETOON throughout March, while others will be featured exclusively on the Comedy Corner.

YAKKITY YAK is produced by Studio B and Australia's Kapow Pictures for Nickelodeon Australia and TELETOON. The series is produced using Flash.
