Keyframe Digital Sets Sail for Peggy's Little Harbour, Embraces Cuddly Wuggleys

Animation and visual effects studio Keyframe Digital Productions has added PEGGY'S LITTLE HARBOUR and CUDDLY WUGGLEYS to its development slate of original children's animated series. The studio recently announced that it was developing SOCK MONSTERS with Dublin-based partner Kavaleer Productions.

Aimed at preschoolers, PEGGY'S LITTLE HARBOUR features 6-year-old Peggy, who has inherited the spirit of adventure and exploration from her ancestors who landed on Canada's great Atlantic shore hundreds of years ago. A true "East Coast" girl, the series takes place in Peggy's hometown of Little Harbour where she lives in a lighthouse with her grandmother. Inspired by her insatiable curiosity, Peggy sets out on exciting expeditions with the enthusiasm of an Old World explorer, accompanied by her loyal sidekick Droolie (a Newfoundland dog), where she listens to the world by hearing with her heart and makes some wonderful new animal friends along the way. The 52x11 CGI episodes combine lessons on how to "investigate" by observing, asking questions, experimenting and solving problems -- all in a friendly coastal town atmosphere with beautiful Celtic music.

CUDDLY WUGGLEYS will also target the preschool audience. The Cuddly Wuggleys are a group of five plush friends who live at the Cuddly Wuggley Daycare Center. These adorable friends awaken at the end of each day after all the children have gone home and the lights have gone down to embark on magical adventures discovering along the way how fabulous the world of pre-school learning can be. The energetically colored daycare center is the setting for these stimulating adventures which are vividly enriched with an educational undertone and highly focused story-telling that communicates many important messages filled with rational thought, manners, care and understanding, teamwork and best of all -- friendship. The 52x11 episodes combine a blend of 2D and 3D animation.

Keyframe executives will be attending the KidScreen Summit in New York to secure broadcast/cable distribution.

As previously announced, Keyframe is also co-developing the animated series SOCK MONSTERS with Kavaleer. SOCK MONSTERS follows the adventures of a comic ragtag crew consisting of odd socks named Fleecy, Toasty, Smidgen and Scrunch. They live in Sock World and help lost socks that have slipped down a magical chute into Sock World find a purpose as arms, legs, trunks and ears of the Sock Monsters.

The studio recently co-produced the second season of PINKY DINKY DOO with Cartoon Pizza and Sesame Workshop. Keyframe created 3D animation for 26 new half-hour episodes for the series which has over 35 worldwide broadcast partners including NOGGIN, CBeebies and Discovery Kids Latin America, covering more than 65 territories.
