Quentin Tarantino has found his Broomhilda for DJANGO UNCHAINED, reports Deadline.com. Kerry Washington will take the role of the abused slave and wife of the title character, Django, played by Jamie Foxx. Once freed Django (Jamie Foxx) trains with a German bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz) in order to save Broomhilda from sadistic plantation owner, Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio).

The cast also includes Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson, Don Johnson, Dennis Christopher, Laura Cayouette and Gerald McRaney. Stacey Sher, Pilar Savone and Reginald Hudlin are the producers alongside exec producers Harvey Weinstein, Michael Shamberg and Jim Skotchdopole.

The Weinstein Company will handle the U.S. release, while Sony Pictures holds the international rights. The film will break into theaters on Dec. 25, 2012.
