Kappa Mikey Clip of the Week Debuts on Net & Podcast on iTunes

Starting today, Nov. 17, 2006, fans of KAPPA MIKEY will be able to download a free Clip of the Week every Friday, the shows creator, Animation Collective, announced. The free, weekly clip is available on www.kappamikey.com and will also be podcasted on iTunes. Fans can also sign up for an RSS feed of the Clip of the Week on the shows website. The popular animated comedy series airs on Nickelodeon Sundays at 11:00 am and Nicktoons Network (check local listings).

The KAPPA MIKEY Clip of the Week will feature hilarious content from the anime/comedy series about a struggling American actor-turned-Japanese anime star. The show is MTV Networks first global acquisition and is the first anime show created and produced in the U.S., not in Asia.

This weeks debut clip features a scene from the Lost in Transportation episode as the cast of LilyMu is scheduled to perform at the birthday party of the son of a major advertiser. Mikey thinks he can get there on his own and proceeds to get lost in Tokyo. As the cast stalls for him, Mikey joins a Tokyo motorbike gang and eventually becomes the leader.

The 52-episode series is written like a sitcom with a show-within-a-show. Each episode takes place on and off the set of LilyMu, a fictional Japanese TV series starring once-struggling American actor, Mikey Simon, as he adjusts to his new role as Kappa Mikey, Japan's biggest anime star. With its distinct style -- a combination of American and Japanese animation styles -- Mikey, drawn in thick-lined Pop Graphic style, is the only character on the show not depicted in anime.
