Kabillion Sets Launch Date for ‘Wendy’

Acquisition comes as part of Kabillion’s expansion into digital distribution of third-party content in the U.S.

Woodland Hills, CA -- Splash Entertainment-owned kids free On-Demand TV network Kabillion has announced that the company has just acquired the exclusive U.S. rights to the international hit Wendy, the 26 x 24’ 3D CGI animated series aimed at 6-11 year olds which is currently airing to tremendous success around the world including on ZDF (Germany) and France Television (France).

Produced by Red Kite Wendy Limited for Wendy Promotions Limited, with Red Kite Distribution as distributor, Wendy is set to launch exclusively on Kabillion starting this month. As part of the deal, Kabillion will also be handling the digital distribution of the series on other platforms within the U.S. The announcement was made today by Kabillion President & Splash Entertainment co-CEO Nicolas Atlan.

David Di Lorenzo, Vice President Licensing and Digital Distribution for Kabillion, who negotiated the deal commented, “We are pleased to have the distribution rights to Wendy. This series is a great addition for Kabillion TV on Demand.  We will use Kabillion as a platform to build an audience for the series and will then provide viewers the ability to watch it on other digital platforms.

For the millions of girls around the world who love horses – here comes Wendy. The show charts the adventures of teenage heroine, Wendy and focuses on her equestrian centered life.  Living with her family at Rose Valley, the stables, riding school and stud farm owned by her father, Wendy and her friends get involved in many adventures. Wendy, who at just 15 is an accomplished rider and show jumper, experiences no shortage of drama – her life is full of gossip, friendships and romances which are the main themes of the program.
