Kabillion, the new multi-platform kids' program service, will launch a new preschool-focused block of programming, Kabillion Jr., on Aug. 1, 2007. Kabillion Jr. will offer animated programming for kids 2-5 on both Kabillion On-Demand (on Comcast Cable systems nationwide) and Kabillion's broadband site, www.Kabillion.com.
Debut programming offered on Kabillion Jr. includes the 3D CGI-animated DIVE OLLY DIVE! and the animated series based on everyone's favorite dolphin and his young human friend, FLIPPER & LOPAKA. Shows will be added to the schedule in the coming months.
"We've developed this new preschool block in response to the research telling us that parents are introducing kids to multi-platform entertainment at younger and younger ages, including VOD, computers and the Internet," said Bill Schultz, ceo of Kabillion. "Kabillion is a trusted brand and can offer parents entertaining and engaging content. Kabillion Jr.com is a colorful and fun place to share with their kids, in a very safe, COPPA compliant environment."
DIVE OLLY DIVE! follows the fun-filled underwater escapades of Olly and Beth, two young research submarines-in-training who live in a deep-sea research center where they experience the joys and challenges of life in their underwater world. Under the guidance of their enthusiastic human teacher and mentor Deep Sea Diver Doug, Olly and Beth are training to one day become full-fledged research submarines. The show is co-produced by Mike Young Prods. Ltd. (MYP), Flying Bark Prods. of Australia, KI.KA, ARD of Germany, Telegael of Ireland and GDC. Created by Andrew and Ian Ross, it is produced with the support of the MEDIA Plus Programme of the European Community.
FLIPPER & LOPAKA is the latest chapter in the exciting adventures of the world's most famous dolphin, Flipper. The animated series opens up a whole new underwater world where there are new friendships, new rivalries and new adventures, both above and below the waves. Set around a beautiful and exotic South Sea island, Flipper befriends a young Polynesian boy named Lopaka when he saves him from drowning. Together with their appealing gang of aquatic friends, Flipper and Lopaka combine their resources to triumph over the evil giant octopus, Dexter and protect the legendary underwater city of Quetzo. The show is co-produced by EM.TV & Merchandising AG, Germany and Australia's Flying Bark Prods.
