Julian Frost Animates the Birds and the Bees for KY

Dumb Ways to Die’ director Julian Frost takes a look at the language of love in his new project for KY Jelly produced by Passion New York.

Dumb Ways to Die director Julian Frost takes a look at the language of love in his new project for KY Jelly. The creative was devised by Robert & Langer DDB and the spot was produced by Passion New York.

Set to a cover of Cole Porter’s classic “Let’s Do It,” the spot shows birds, bees and, of course, fleas getting down to business in Frost’s own inimitable style.

For Frost the project gave him the chance to express his romantic side. "It's fun to work with a powerful, universal idea like romantic love. You can suggest it with the simplest of character moments and hopefully it takes flight in people's minds,” he said.

What’s more, the opportunity to play with such a well-known track also got his creative juices flowing. “It was a privilege to add animation to such a classic, sweet, cheeky song. I hope Cole Porter would approve. His Wikipedia entry suggests he wasn't a bad fit for the brand,” he said. “Cole Porter and animated humping fleas, together at last. I'm confident we'll see a blip in the US birth rate in nine months."
