Vulture reports that Angelina Jolie has backed out of the WANTED sequel and subsequently Universal has killed the project. The original film's director Timur Bekmambetov had planned to return.

Jolie will now star in Warner Bros.' space thriller GRAVITY from CHILDREN OF MEN director Alfonso Cuaron. The film had been set up at Universal with Jolie, but was recently sold to WB in turnaround.

Cuaron penned the script with his son Jonas. Jolie will play the only surviving member of a space exploration mission who tries to find a way back to Earth to be with her daughter.

HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS' David Heyman and Legendary Pictures are producing.
