John Landgraf Joins FX as President of Entertainment

FX has hired former Jersey Television president and partner John Landgraf as president of entertainment. At FX, he will oversee of all development and production for original programming including series, films and new media.

Peter Liguori, president and ceo, FX Networks, said, "John Landgraf is the perfect fit for FX and a great addition to the network. I'm excited about working with someone of John's impeccable reputation and great programming instincts, and I'm confident that he will be an excellent creative partner."

Landgraf most recently was president of Jersey Television, a company he co-founded along with former Jersey Films partners Danny DeVito, Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher. Since June of 1999, Jersey Television developed more than 50 primetime cable and network television drama and comedy projects, produced nine pilots and put five television series on the air including KAREN SISCO (ABC), RENO 911 (Comedy Central), UC: UNDERCOVER (NBC), THE AMERICAN EMBASSY (FOX) and Kate Brasher (CBS).

"This is a great opportunity," said Landgraf. "FX has shown an appetite for the kind of bold and original series which have always interested me as a programmer and as a producer. THE SHIELD and NIP/TUCK are great shows, either of which I would have been proud to develop. I look forward to working with the talented team of executives at the channel and to developing new shows built on the network's success."

Prior to his tenure at Jersey Television, Landgraf was vp of primetime series at NBC from 1994-1999. In that position, Landgraf was a key figure in new primetime series development, developing THE WEST WING, PROFILER and SUDDENLY SUSAN.
